Daily Bread Food Truck is Buffalo’s first and only not-for-profit food share truck. Our philosophy is based on a “get one, give one” principle: when you purchase certain items from our menu, the money will help us provide a meal to hungry families in our community. Daily Bread is completely non-profit: 100% of the truck’s overhead costs have been provided by generous donations that allow us to take every single dollar beyond supplies and staff costs and put it toward food throughout Buffalo and Western New York.

Over the last few years, we have given tens of thousands of meals to families in need. These were directly made possible by the food purchased from the truck and generous in-kind donations. Before the pandemic occurred in 2020, Daily Bread delivered fresh, home cooked meals to hundreds of families on two Saturdays a month from November through April.

But when COVID-19 threatened the food security for thousands of people, we pivoted our model to distribute those free meals right from our truck as we parked in various locations throughout the area, allowing greater access to all. During the 2020 school year alone, we gave away over 5,000 hearty, healthy meals. Partnering with local restaurants and area businesses further extended our reach and our abilities. Being at the center of a community coming together has truly touched our hearts.

As we move into 2022 and beyond, Daily Bread will continue to monitor food insecurity to make sure that no one goes hungry.
